Almshouses Charity

The Reverend Thomas Brown Charity operates and maintains 12 almshouses for occupation by elderly people in the parishes of Kingsclere and Ashford Hill with Headley.

Two Almshouses are located in Kingsclere and ten in Headley

The charity is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the almshouses.  We will advertise when properties become vacant and to ensure allocation to those meeting the criteria.

The Almshouses at Headley are supported by a Warden who lives on site.

Eligibility - The Trustees will consider applications from people who are resident in the Parishes for Kingsclere and Ashford Hill with Headley.

Current Availability - We do not currently have any Alms Houses available.

The Application form to apply for an Almshouse is available below and should be printed off completed and sent to the Clerk for Trustee consideration.

Only Applications from those residing within the Parishes of Kingsclere and Ashford Hill with Headley can be considered.

Please do not apply if you do not meet this requirement.

The Trustees have responsibility to ensure that applicants for the Almshouses are suitably qualified under the terms of the Charity's Governing Document.  Trustees will need to investigate the personal circumstances of all applicants.  The Charity complies with the regulations for Data Security - General Data Protection Regulations.  The personal data supplied on the form and other information relating to the Almshouse Appointment or your care management will be held on file.  Some details may be checked with relevant organisations since the Charity reserves the right to investigate and verify information submitted but no details will be disclosed for any inappropriate purpose.
